having just read this
where it seems it's recognized by Google that device makers' custom battery saving methods are a problem I hope members here share their brand experience (shortly please) and even rate them so that other members are warned before buying a new device and don't have a nasty surprise (for example I'm thinking about a new Motorola or a Poco)
I personally use now a Xiaomi with Android 9 but it's the so called Google One phone with no Xiaomi customization (no MIUI at all)
and a Samsung tablet with Android 11
both are fine with Macrodroid, no issues at all
the only side issue is with notifications from other apps (which my MD macros must catch) and which arrive late because.. you know even if battery optimization is disabled and full background app use is allowed for these other apps
I don't know how MD manages to be responsive and work fine in the background (I believe it has to do with the persistent MD notification)
but I'm happy it does
Google Explains Your Android Phone’s Broken Notifications
Not all of the best Android phones and tablets work alike, and some devices have aggressive battery-saving software that can stop background notifications from coming through reliably. The Android team at Google I/O explained this week why that’s an ongoing issue.
