For years i have wanted to find a custom ascii symbol, that looked identical to a space (ie blank). I hunted for such a symbol, but couldn't find. I recall scrolling through the entire unicode character set in Character Map program on Windows. Maybe i need to have another search, but this time...

I did try that. It's not custom indentation, but it is at least maintained indentation. However, that doesn't work for scenario #2.
