Hello,

I get this error message from a macro. The marco used to run correctly until I did a factory reset of the phone last week.
Maybe I missed something reinstalling the app?

Thank you, bye
Roberto

Probably location service isn't working.
Make sure MD helper installed, its permission and battery saver settings correctly.

You can go into macrodroid settings - trigger options - sunset/sunrise - sunrise/sunset location to set a fixed location.

With MD helper installed with GPS location enabled, no battery optizimation and ADB hack done, the macro still doesn't work.
I had to manually set the location in MD settings to have a functioning macro.
Where can I check if location service is working?

I'd like to make sure the helper you had installed is downloaded from the MD site or Play store. If it is from here, don't you get any info on the log window of the helper app?
Do you show me the fully detailed MD system log and the helper's in English please.

I don't see how the helper file and ADB hack have anything to do with this, you should still be able to use location services without them..

Also, don't you always have to set a fixed location for the sunrise/sunset trigger? Maybe it just doesn't go by GPS location.. Could it be that you had actually set a fixed location at some point before the factory reset but forgot about it?

Yes, I brought the MD helper from MD site :)
I try to attach system and helper's log (I modified the app language in english before saving but I don't know if the old lines are still in italian).
Now with location manually set the macro Tema chiaro/scuro alba/tramonto works properly, so maybe you could find some errors in the past days.
I don't remember if I set a fixed location 2 years ago when I started using MD, but I thought that it would have recognized the sunrise/sunset time using actual GPS position...

Yeah, same as my setting. Basically it doesn't need setting your location manually by default. All my devices work without any problems even though no manual setting.
Only suspicious thing is that you stop sending your location to improve your privacy. If so, and has no wifi connection in your home, there would be no location data sources. Some contractors are sending data from cell towers, but it is not so popular and I don't know its normal conditions in Italy.
Anyway, I'm gonna try looking into the log:) When i found something, I let you know.

Well, it is a little painful to read the log... I tried it through the translator though.
Anyway if Sunset/Sunrise trigger works correctly, when MD startup or just turn it off and on, the system log shows you the next time as the attached image, you know. It will very easy to identity it works or not.
Now you have static location setting, so clear the data and check the log if you have enough time and still want to get them dynamically. When you open your google account and can find your location service log accurately, the trigger should work correctly.

I have a vague memory of some setting about wifi and location during the re-configuration of the phone, but now I can't find it in the Google account settings... However I have wifi at home so, if I undestrand, it would be not necessary to manually set GPS position in MD, right?

I never saw a string like that you highlight, I try to clear the static GPS position and to turn off and then on MD.

Exactly. Thankfully you got everything what I wrote:) I let you see my Google location history setting page. Before Google update the page, we could check the log here, but now it changed to the link to the new Timeline web app. Basically, it should be active by default.

As long as one of my devices connect to wifi, my location data is sending to Google and tracking continuously because I logged in all of mine. Most Android users are do so without any attention, excluding some sensitive guys. One of easiest way to check it is that just opening your Google Maps app. If you can find your location records accurately, it should be one of location date sources for sunrise/sunset trigger actually. It means you can use it without any manual setting generally. So, I have never set it but my sunrise/sunset trigger have been working correctly.

If you can't get the location after when you try again, the static setting is not bad. Only the cons is that you will miss a beautiful sunset when you take a vacation on French beach;) So, I attached an image as alternative. It get the day's sunset/sunrise time from web api. If you can get your longitude and latitude via MD magic text or so and have Internet connection, these timestamps come from the server.

Enter source but it is for different purpose, just for kidding;)

Just to be sure about this. The sunrise trigger only relies only on you setting the location where you want the sunrise to be determined from. It's nothing to do with helper files or having location services turned on at any point.

If you configure the trigger and you have not previously set the value then you should be prompted to set the location. You can also set the location via the MacroDroid settings -> Trigger Options -> Sunset/Sunrise trigger.

Yes, the helper is my misunderstanding, sorry, just I confused with another thing.
So I have a question about that, @MacroDroidDev.
If it has no relation with location service, how my devices determine where they are for sunrise/sunset? I don't remember I set it actually and it looks still blank. Where can I check it up?
Do I forget it completely, even though I set it?:ROFLMAO::eek:

No, I'm wrong. I made a mistake:oops::eek:
I'm really sorry, @R083R70. I just wasted your time. I checked it on my wife's. It actually navigate me to set the static location on the map at the time to add the trigger. ahhhh, I totally forgot it😭

Anyway, please refer to the macro what I shared when you take a vacation:)

OK, so it's nothing to do with helper, wifi location sharing and so on... I have just to manually set the location in MD trigger settings, as I've done some days ago, and I have no more errors from the macro log.
Anyway it was an interesting discussion, thank you @tanutanu and @MacroDroidDev for your time ;)
I'm so sorry, @R083R70.
One strange thing is that if you set your static location at the first time, MD should let you know and navigate to map interface as I checked it again on my wife's mobile. It was happened just when I set the trigger into the macro trigger(red) field. If not set, I couldn't add the trigger.
So if your macro were running, the static location should set, or the trigger couldn't add on your macro unless import it. I'm not sure it could import without any warnings on purple background.
