I've had the same problem and have an idea to launch Google Maps, wait 5-10 seconds, then mark the location. I haven't had an opportunity to test it yet, but if Maps will launch and update while the phone is locked then I'd think it should work.

I just wanted to update this thread for anybody else having the same issue in the future. Using intents from Tasker to MacroDroid has worked perfectly! No misfires, and no failures to fire. It was also simple as can be to configure. Thanks for the suggestion, @Endercraft and @Dimlos

I did not think about using intents. I'm gonna have to look at that because Notifications seem very inconsistent. The problem appears to be on the Tasker side because it doesn't consistently post a notification when a task runs. When it does, Macrodroid handles it perfectly.

I have the same issue, although I'm not sure when it started. Interestingly, I can still add a Tasker shortcut to Panels with no problem.

So that means if it did a GPS lookup 10 minutes ago for some other app the variable last_loc_latlong will not actually be the location found 10 minutes ago, it will be empty or some other string until the lookup initiated by MacroDroid is complete?
