Action not executed if screen off longer time

I have a macro with simple logic:To launch an app two seconds after the screen is off. Recently for some unknown reason this macro seldom works. After around hundred times test , I found is that if the screen is off for very short time ( say 1 or 2 seconds) then unlock the screen the action will be executed ( because I can see the app interface in foreground ). However , if the screen is off longer time ( say over 1 minute) , then the action will not be executed ( no app interface in foreground ) , tricky part is that in the log , it sill shows as executed .

Any hints how to resolve this ?

Thanks

Maybe it's the os's energy saving that kills the app? Have you removed the battery optimization from the app that launches MacroDroid?

ps
Sorry for my english

Thanks Qarboz for the reply, Your English is good enough for me to understand.

No , it is not energy saving setting , I have used MacroDroid for several years and I am pretty sure it is always running no matter how long time the screen off .

The another tricky part is that similar Macro is running well on another phone ( Same brand phone with low configuration) . Really confusing ...

Hello
I meant that maybe it's the other app, the one that should launch MacroDroid, that has battery optimization turned on
