Auto Responds

There's another better way than ui interaction. You will need to download this plugin. You will be able to respond via the message notication without even turning on the screen.

In macro you will need to use its trigger (trigger > apps > tasker/locale plugins > notification listener > notification listener. You can set up the options plugin up to your needs so it triggers on telegram notification. After you confirm the setup a window will open with options where to save variables. You can save whatever variables you will need, but you must save the "Notification key" into variable for sure. You will need to, to be able to autoreply.

Now you can setup the auto reply action. Again action > apps > tasker/locale plugin > notification listener > auto reply. Now in the action setup you will need to use the key of the notification that you saved previously to reply on the message via its notification. You can input your custom reply text and you can even use variables if you please it should work just like in Macrodroid [lv=variable] or {lv=bvariable}. Now confirm the action setup.

Help pls
I use Notification Listener Plugin to listen to whatsapp and auto replied with simple message like BUSY!. It works flawlessly for two days then stop replying. The plugin is still active at the background and the macro run other actions except auto reply.

what could possibly be the culprit here? I also notice the notification key variable always have these same key (0|com.whatsapp.w4b|1|null|10044) no matter who send a message.

could MD upgrade cause this issue?

Try to reconfigure the trigger. Is notification listener excluded from battery optimizations?

I am absolutely sure the trigger is configured properly because the play sound action in the macro work perfectly. I even got some notification values in my variable but the notification key variable remain unchanged no matter who send the message, hence no auto respond...

Could this be bug in the latest MD?

Do I have to use MacroDroid?
If I use AutoResponder for Telegram, I can easily get an automatic response in Telegram.
Yea i know about AUTO RESPONDER APP but the problem is you are limited with variable activities. for example if someone send a message containing values and you need to compute that values and return an output or you want to extract, process and store data from the received message..... then macrodroid is your best bet.

The macros I put together as @FrameXX instructions in v5.26.8 and v5.27.8 seem to work fine, and @OscariBot says they worked for 2 days, so I wonder if I will have problems in the future?

I'm testing with Telegram, but WhatsApp seems to violate their terms of service for automated messages, is there any possibility of regulation?

Am still debugging trying to get it work again. I tripple check every neccessary configuration and it seems to be ok.
Could whatsapp possibly stop the action from executing because it violate their terms of service for automated messages. Am not too sure.

No. MacroDroid and the plugin make use of tha ability to respond from the notification. Since Android allows apps with given permission to manage notifications it can make any actions on any notification that came including respponding throught the notification instead of you. No notification => no auto response. Whatsapp has no clue if it was the user or MacroDroid who interacted with the notification as far as I think.

automated messaging violates the terms of service.

It may, but they cannot disallow 3rd party apps from interacting with the notification. The only option for them would be to remove the option to reply from the notification.

I'm not trying to get in trouble with @FrameXX, I just suspect the service provider's involvement because what was working stopped working.

Guuusshhhhhhh everything seems ok... what is going on???? I got it working with telegram yet no explanation why whatsapp stop auto responding. maybe I should row back to my previous macrodroid version. But it makes sense when @FrameXX, said if whatsapp cannot disallow 3rd party apps from interacting with the notification. The only option for them would be to remove the option to reply from the notification.
COULD THEY HAVE FINANLY REMOVE IT?
