Can not find 5G base station

When I use 4G network, the Macrodroid can find and locate the base stations and get the correct geo location. But the program seems not support 5G network, since it can not locate the 5G stations nearby. Is it the problem of Macrodroid? I use version 5.22.6.

That is a good point, it's not something I have looked at as the cell tower stuff was all built long before 5G existed. I will make a not to look into this and see if there is a way to list 5G cells.

I'm having the same problem - on my Pixel 5, when I'm in a location with a 5G tower Macrodroid didn't seem to register when I left the area. Setting the phone to prefer 4G fixed the problem (and probably saves me some battery too).

I verified that the tower reported by Macrodroid was different from the tower the phone was seeing by using the "LTE Discovery" and "NetMonster" apps. I see that NetMonster is open sourced at https://github.com/mroczis/netmonster-core so perhaps you can compare against their code to fix the 5G tower detection.

Based on my experience with CellMapper, normal 5g is NSA in which the phone connects to both LTE and NR at same time. Android will give cell identity only for the LTE part, but it reports signal strength for each network.

Connection must be 5G SA to get the NR cell identity, though I've never got it to work on either Galaxy A13 or S22+
