What or whom decides it's time to change the data connection?

On my 5G phone there is a network setting which includes all the networks 3G, 4G and 5G.
There is another setting that includes all the networks except 5G.
The user can select which setting to use. I have a macro that uses UI integration to automate switching between the 2 settings.
Whichever setting is used, the phone will try to connect to the "fastest" data connection and if not available work down the list.
I tend to use the 4G setting, as I live in an area with no 5G. It also saves battery as it turns off the 5G modem.

So I'm no sure what you are trying to do with your macro.

I often walk in the woods where there is usually 3G signal (my data doesn't work there), and I want to point out that the signal has changed to 4g or 5g.
