Click app button every 60 seconds

I need to click an app button on my android phones automatically every 60 seconds but I not sure how or if this can be done? And if it can be, does the app always have to be on top?

Repeat actions>fixed, UI interaction action, wait before next action 60 seconds

Basically, UI interaction will not work well unless the screen is lit and the object to be processed is displayed.
