would you mind sharing your System log?
on my device, Under System Logs I only see:

tried using that with a google account with smtp.gmail.com port 25 and still get the Send Email - Failed to send email to xxx@gmail.com

There could be a gmail limitation sending from different apps and services - a "feature" for security.
Try in the settings of gmail account if there are any restrictions, otherwise try another non gmail account.

Edit: tried the gmail account and didn't get it running - no failure msg, just notification "not sent"
both possibilities "Gmail Account" and "SMTP Server"

Don't use SMTP with Gmail, it won't work.

Noted. I was just trying all possible option and combination available as the Gmail account option didn't exactly work out of the box. What's off about is I do not see any error on Systems log when using it.
I have a old phone without google apps running the free version for many months now (still hasn't shown the 7 day limit), and it is sending a photo from an outlook email (smtp configured), to a gmail account.
I have another phone sending and email from the account associated to my google playstore to another gmail account.
"i cant get my macrodroid to send me an email...how did you get it to work..i didn't see in thread what you changed to make it work?

I am not sure there is anything to screenshot. In my case it's just one action, the Send email one.
If what you say is true that for one of your Gmail account tied to playstore could actually send email.. Then I can only assume it's got something to do with individual account setup.. Like when 2 factor authentication is setup or something. Which then I 2ould think would break Macrodroid at its current form.
