Unless it's really simple (for me!)
30 was the number of files in my "testdelete" folder on my device that I then changed the macro to look at my sd card folder with 16,000 files.
Does that update on its own?

If you modify both Script shell and Open file actions the macro will work the same way as now but... 16000 files is definitely to much

I wonder why that is and what to do about that?

You made the right diagnosis: permission was denied to copy files from .../blogNN to .../blog00.
You need ADB hack and I guess you didn't ADB hacked your device. If you're interested you'll find lots of posts on this forum about how to do that. It allows a lot of additional commands without rooting your device.
Sorry I forgot to advice you as it was working fine on my device...
