I need a properly working macro that automatically turns the Hotspot off after a certain time if there is no device connected. Help me please.

I started testing and found that at least on my phone, there is not a working method for macrodroid to start/stop wifi Hotspot. I will keep looking for an alternative but I can make no promises. Sorry

Ok
In your phone settings there should be a timeout for No activity, don't need a macro

I was able to get a macrodroid macro to turn on/off and configure a Hotspot but it's clunky/slow as it relies entirely on the macro "clicking" on things as if it were the user. The other problem, this would have to be 100% customized based on your environment which means getting multiple screen shots one for each step. Alternatively, if you become comfortable making macros with the ui action, you should be able to do it yourself....

I found a solution, it works for me
When there is a connection to hotspot it shows a notification, this disappears when there is nothing connected
So try this, if you can get it to work it's just to add a Wait if you like

Unfortunately there is no. (Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 9)
I did find a method for detecting connected Hotspot devices which should work and can be incorporated into a macro (why I said yesterday I may have something today). Once you are able to turn the Hotspot on/off from a macro using ui clicks, I can help you with the logic required to test for activity (to know when to shut off the Hotspot). I hope this helps.

Under device actions section there is an action called ui interaction where macrodroid can Simulate the user clicking on buttons or links on the screen. This is how you can turn on/off Hotspot even when the normal automation methods are not working. It is not ideal, slow and cumbersome but sometimes it's your only option.

Thanks again. Now I understand. Which options must I choose?

The easiest would be identify in app as you are asked to navigate to the item, select the menu that says you are ready and then clicking on the option (macrodroid then figures out what specifically to record).

The only exception to that is if you have to do a gesture (such as swiping up or down) as they are harder to record.

But in this Macro, if the phone is on another screen, something completely different is working.
