Macrodroid set to assistant app not working upon reboot

Hello, I have Macrodroid set to assistant app instead of Google assistant to detect long press home button. When I set it, it works fine until I reboot. After the reboot, it doesn't work. If I change the assistant to another app and back to Macrodroid, it works until I reboot again. Can someone help me? (Device is Xiaomi Redmi Note 4)

I think it's your phone changing the setting.
As I understand, there is nothing in Macrodroid that could perform this change.
I had the same issue on a previous phone. My workaround was to develop a macro that would change the assistant app to Macrodroid.
See if your phone has the Secure system setting shown in the attached first screenshot.
If so, set app to Macrodroid and make an action.
Then select Google or whatever is the default on boot and make an action, if you need to switch back.
If not, it's possible to change the setting using UI integration actions - see 2nd screenshot for an example.
