Managing OpenType Features in Fonts

It is known that fonts, in addition to saturation, have built-in OpenType functions that change the character of glyphs. https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/using/open-type-syntax.html
The presence of a particular function is assigned by the font developer at the design stage. These features can be controlled - enabled or disabled. Fonts can be static - contain 1 style or variable - contain 2 or more styles in one file.
I propose to implement font management to improve the visual appearance of the text. Or optional for actions, for example: floating text or selection dialog and others. Or a separate action acting on the target action.
I understand that this idea is based on specific font knowledge. So this is just food for thought.
