Hello I would like to monitor my hotspot on my phone via Marcodroid. If no device is connected, the hotspot should be deactivated again. How can I read out the hotspot on users?

With this macro, as long as you get tethering notifications:
Newer versions of Android have made it harder to control the Hotspot via macrodroid.

If you get a notification when a device is connected, you could use "Notification Cleared" from Android system as trigger
And "Hotspot Disable" as action
I'm aware off that it wont work on all devices

But it works for me on Huawei with Android 10 and Galaxy with Android 12

What in case when I have no notifications? Only the number of connected devices in the icon? It seems be not to use by notifications reader, isn't it?
"Wifi Hotspot State" is great function, but how to use it as the trigger? Can it be really only used as the condition for "if" in actions?
I run it using a 5sec timer as the trigger but it costs the cpu and the battery.
