When I try to use the calendar event trigger I get a popup message "no calendars found".

i am sure I am doing something silly. Please can someone advise?

Have you granted MacroDroid permission to access you calendars?

Are you sure you have actual Google calendars and are not using some third party calendar app that doesn't sync with Google?

Install Aqua Mail and sign into the calendar accounts.
Thanks for responing, I do use Aqua Mail in fact (and I like it) and it accesses my google account emails with no problem. Is it posisbel that usig Aqua has now topped MD from accessing the calendar?

I expected to find a place where I grant MD permission to access my calendar, but it doe snot seem to have one.

Check the following: auto sync = on: Settings>accounts>auto sync.

Settings>accounts>affected account>calendar>ticked.

Settings > apps > three dots > show system > calendar storage > enable.

Settings > apps > MacroDroid > permissions > calendar > grant/allow

Thanks for those suggestions, Jacob, I checked them and they all look OK.

When I look at the page "Apps with permission to access your calendar" it lists the following apps as "allowed':

Aqua Mail, Calendar, gmail and Macrodroid.
