not executing, while macro activated

I've a weird one, I restored from back-up created anew, same result, I see the macro was executed but the action isn't being performed, I even told the macro to play a sound upon activation but nope, I'm on MIUI 12.5 with autostart enabled, battery optimization disabled, and all permissions granted. When manually testing the action it works

I added a "run this app" action:didn't work (same situation, it SAYS Executed but it didn't) what part of that log should I be looking at?

yeah sure got it from the forum (the macro), first I'm going to disable a macro that does the same (in the past it was no issue running two macroz with the action, maybe something changed and now it matters) will check in with the result 🙃

If you can't find a solution please use report a bug from troubleshooting and provide full information along with the relevant macro you are having trouble with.

Aha! Finally got it to work (no idea how, just did after an update) but another problem has risen, Strava doesn't work when I haven't opened the app, I tried by making an action of opening the screen, didn't work, unlock screen same result, Strava starts only when I open the app, why doesn't screen unlock work (my smartwatch is a trust agent, so unlock is no issue), is that clear?

Ok another try, Strava only starts working (picking up GPS and starts recording) when I activate the screen (so the macro already opened the app\strava\it), but it sits idle untill screen is activated (and subsequently Strava is activated), I added an "activate screen" action and "keep screen unlocked" but neither work, so my question is how to make Strava active without having to interact with my phone?

Maybe post your macro or a screenshot of the macro and logs so we can help better. Make sure to have followed steps at dontkillmyapp.com and be using the latest version of MacroDroid.

I think adding a launch application action may help you.

Just in case someone else ever encounters this, I fixed it with an extremely simple solution: in strava's settings is an option to keep screen on, tap that and you're all set. my macro activates Strava for me when it detects my bike ride (I always forgot to hit record when going for a bike ride)
