Option for reporting macros - lazy copy

interesting discussion and btw. I always wondered who is Vinod Acharya ?? with 567 macros ?? lol

regarding the subject
practically nothing can be done, it's an open place , like a forum, like ... Facebook ...I think you get it, anybody should be able to post , complex or simple macros it doesn't matter, it's a free world,

you can't police it (it's impossible anyway) and you should not unless it's harmful and there lies my concern and the true concern you should all have,
that a macro is malware (ie. it's a dropper which using http get , gets a nasty APK that spies an unsuspecting user or harms him in other ways)
don't expect all users to check the code of a macro

so I suggest that macros with dangerous actions like http get (there may be others too, like shell actions, etc.) are either flagged automatically with a warning or vetted first by moderators

Mods would be there forever vetting macros with http get and shell. Http get action only returns string values

I'm sure the percentage of such macros is very low
and the automatic flagging of such macros should not be difficult for @MacroDroidDev
after all taking care that there is no malware in the store enhances the credibility of MD

Anyway, how many templates did you guys download? I got only 2, collections of intents what I don't know or I was annoyed to gather from Google documents.
Because the macros making by myself are most reliable and acceptable at my own risks, even though I don't believe mine(which have hidden bugs and/or possibilities to improve for each performance or reliability).

I know you guys are discussing for users to offer better experiences, but do you think people just explore through the flooded chaotic list as the ranking?
For me, only 2 things I need are that;
(1) additional filtering feature by date to exclude most outdated macros,
(2) keeping my last search conditions by default.
The name and description text search is already implemented, and the preview is enough useful:)
I think we need to consider the Jamie's To-do, carefully selected points if request:)

I am of two minds on this myself and have used http-get actions in some of my macros myself. With that being said, I think it would be advisable to have a separate set of template categories for macros containing potentially dangerous actions (for advanced users). But also to Jacob's point, unless it's automated it is untenable. So at this time I would suggest making it a goal to implement.

Just my $0.02.

Thanks

You can send personal data with HTTP GET requests. But I think controlling if macro is or is not dangerous us up to user. After all they can see and modify macro easily.
Conceptually I agree with you. However, macrodroid is available to users of all ages, knowledge and abilities which means more users who could be tricked because they don't know any better. That is why I am suggesting a warning/advanced classification based on a dangerous action being included in the macro (as detected by automation). Let the user make an informed decision.

Well I'm a forum moderator, I only step in if there's reports and even then they are easy to fix. In the store though, it is way easy to see what's spam and what isn't. Multiple copies of macros are clearly spam. Beyond that it doesn't really matter
I agree with you! But I think it's not so easy to compare every new stored macro to the whole stock to evaluate if it's a single copy, a slight improvement or something really new and useful...

Stars should be automatically deleted if the account that added the star is deleted. This would make things more fair perhaps.
It makes sense that you've seen it all, Jacob. On top of that, it is your store. You should make the rules. Just don't get all Google about it.
