Replace a incoming notification sound

I use slack for messaging, I also have it set up with a bot to notify if my gate Is opened. Frustratingly slack does not have the ability to have different sounds for different users or channels, odd for such a fully featured app but anyway., so means I have to check the phone each time.
I have just bought Macrodroid and set it up to play a different sound when it has certain text in the message, which is good.
At the moment of course it plays both Sounds on top of one another, this will be OK for me but wondered if a way to cancel the original slack notification sound and so work just that bit cleaner

You cannot "cancel" an apps notification sound, because the sound has already played when the notification received trigger fires.

I think the only thing you can do here is mute slacks notifications completely, so only macrodroid will play a sound.

If you make a macro that replaces the notification, with the clear notification action then it will stop the sound You'll want to create a copy of the notification with MacroDroid's display notification action. This does mean You'll lose any notification interaction functions you once had with Slack

Thanks, I have left, as is, so actually get the two sounds simultaneously which does tell me the difference between messages which is better than nothing.
I do not really want to mute all slack notifications, prefer the oem App as assume the most reliable (as much as possible) destination, just in case Macrodroid not working 100% which is my next query.

I am getting the Macrodroid notification all by itself, not found a pattern yet but might be half an hour or a few hours & it sounds off.
In the Macro list it says, last activated 0 minutes ago so I know it is that.
It should only go off with a slack message which contains "the gate"

There has no slack message at all for a few hours & not aware of any notifications at the same time from anything.

Has good signal throughout so not like it suddenly picked up a wifi signal & a delayed reaction.

When it did fire correctly & sound off a few hours ago both the slack & Macrodroid sounded as expected.

I have set not to be battery optimized but perhaps it is somewhere & just waking up

Any idea's
I am hoping Macrodroid is extremely reliable as wanting to use it as backup notification for an alarm system and want confidence.

I've been having that issue with notifications from a messaging app I use. I use MacroDroid and also another automation app, and in the other app I have a script to play different sounds for different Line (app) message senders. For the last month or so it's been giving repeat alerts about 15-30 minutes after the last received message. Funny thing is my wife has been saying she gets false alerts too, and she doesn't even use automation software. So it seems maybe Goolag has messed something up yet again on their notifications. Just a guess.
