Samsung S21FE: Proximity Sensor always returns 'Far'

Unlike the virtual one of the S20FE, I believe the S21FE has an actual Proximity Sensor. I've tested the sensor through the Samsung Members app and all seems to be fine; however, in MacroDroid, when I use the Proxmiity Sensor: Near Trigger, or test for Proximity Sensor = Near in a condition, it's never detected. For example, when I test this macro, even with the phone face down, it always returns 'far'. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Why not try the proximity sensor trigger. Add one near and add one far. Then you can use if trigger fired if condition

Thanks, I tried setting a Proximity Sensor: Near trigger but it never fires. I think I'll have to use the Light Sensor instead

Thanks, mainly because of the amount of work involved in migrating all my macros from my old Android 8 phone to my new phone, I've only just moved the SIM and was able to try your suggestion, and it does work: while a call is in progress, the Proximity Sensor: Near trigger does indeed fire.

Does that mean that the Proximity Sensor only works during calls?...

Try testing the 'near' trigger while a phone call is in progress...

I think so. I think a display pixel has to be disabled to allow the proximity sensor to function, so my guess is that only happens when a call is in progress.

I have a Note 20 ultra where the proximity sensor trigger in macrodroid only works when there's enough light. Various device/hardware info apps show the sensor in their sensors section but without it actually working. And on the hardware overview the sensor is not mentioned.

However, the Samsung members app confirms it is working fine when tested.
