What rom/phone brand best compatible

Hi,

I have a OnePlus 8T and started to have compatibility issues when upgraded to Android 12. So I installed a custom rom and now it works perfectly.

My question : what phones are fully compatible with MD? Indeed, if I buy a brand new OnePlus, AOSP based roms won't be available. And built in rom will be problematic. So?

My Fairphone 4 works with things like mobile data toggle, which on other devices is flaky. LineageOS is also available for Fairphones. Don't get the 2 as it's software is being discontinued in March. I can't talk about other devices.

Ok. I had trouble with AOD and volume tweaking when I used oxygen os, and now with custom roms it's fine but I'm bored with different problems happening at every new build
