Action "touch screen"

Does the "touch screen" action work when screen is off? What is the difference between this and the "UI Interaction"?

UI Interaction action supercedes Touch Screen action. As they both 'fake' physical interaction with the UI, it is not possible for either to work when the UI is disabled.

UI interaction works via accessibility services where as touch screen action works with root and only works with root.

Nothing can ever work in terms of interacting with the UI when the screen is truly off.

There are apps that draw an overlay to disable touch if that is what you want. You can draw a black overlay which makes the user think the screen is off
