Save/save own macros

Hello,
my username is opamanne and I am new here. I am 73 years old but still interested in this topic. My problem is this: How can I save or backup a custom macro so that it is not lost.
I hope someone can help me with this.

To protect macros from loss, there's different methods. There's a backup tile on the home screen of MacroDroid which offers two options: local backup and cloud backup. You can create backups in these along with being able to share the macros to another device or local storage with the orange tile. Another option is to use the macro export action in your macros and configure it to a local folder path. Lastly, in the specific macro there's a three dots menu at the top right hand side, there youll find a "share macro" or "share as image"

There isn't... You can always export macros then upload it once a week to another cloud service using a macro.

This is exactly what I wanted to do. But when I want to use the action Export macros from the Macrodroid cathegory, it only allows local export, not export to cloud.
Any other functions that allow accessing the cloud?

Trying; how can I add MacroDroid cloud to Foldersync for that to be able to synchronize local backup to cloud?

MacroDroid cloud is it's own thing. You'll need your own cloud. Try Google drive. In Foldersync click accounts and then press the + button to add one. Once you've done that head to folder pairs and configure as you wish

Can I set up when it is done (e.g. once a week)?
The way cloud backup works is that whenever you make a change to your macros, a timer is started and after a few hours a cloud backup will be made. If you make lots of changes in any given period before the cloud backup starts this timer will reset (so you don't end up with tons of backups minutes apart). In this way cloud backups should only be made when relevant and there is no need for a weekly backup etc as you should always have the latest and recent changes backed up.

Is there any chance you add an option to backup as soon as a modification is made ?
In case people do something bad like infinite loops ;)

No sorry, the effect on my bandwidth/storage usage would be bad and potentially cost me a lot of money. Since I don't charge subscriptions I cannot risk any significant ongoing monthly cost that scales with usage because I don't have a business model that supports that.

This is good news; this logic is reasonable. Thanks.
