Just wondering if it would be possible to get this on the ToDo list. Perhaps something would be possible via the Device Setting / System Settings with the ADB Hack?

I'm afraid it'll never be possible because the device must have been conceived with this feature (half hardware, half software). And then, the manufacturer must allow this feature to be managed by external apps...

You'll find many posts here on the forum about this subject.

I looked around on the forum for posts about this a fair bit before posting here but obviously missed them. It's a wishful thought, but it seems that there are quite a few device dependent possibilities in system settings so thought I'd mention it just in case.

@Snurre is right but be careful: even if a setting appears in the list, sometimes updating the value (via MD) is not taken into account by the system. ☹️

Right, some of the settings is dependent on other things, so sometimes for a setting to work, it's necessary to change some other also

You're probably right but sometimes it's even a bit more tricky...

I had a macro who do start charging at XX% and stop charging when reaches XX%.
I had used the APP called "battery charge limit" this app show me the location of the needed files.
I set a Akku trigger at XX% with a shell skript action who move the files and the same at XX% to move the files back.
This work at least with rooted phones. I don't think this will work without root

Yes, I think this feature will probably require root. But that was also the case with Airplane Mode at one point, so I remain hopeful.
