Conditional Auto Play Media on Bluetooth Connection

Hi All,
I want to create a macro that begins to play audio immediately after bluetooth connects in my car. BUT - I want it to check if I have any podcasts downloaded first (Google Podcasts). If I have podcasts downloaded, I want it to play podcasts. If I don't have any downloaded, I want it to open and play Spotify.

First thought was having the macro check the path where Google Podcasts saves downloaded podcasts. Unfortunately, I'm not rooted, and the directory is hidden from me. I'm wondering if anybody else has any other thoughts. Much appreciated!

Interesting thought. The answer is yes and no. I get a notification that there is a new episode available. Podcasts is configured to automatically download episodes, however it almost never actually does, so I typically manually download it after I get that notification.

But even still - I could make a variable that tracks if new episodes are available - but how would I toggle that variable when there are no more unplayed episodes, other than manually?

I think I've decided to simply do this via Option dialog when I connect to my car's bluetooth
