How to execute macros even while phone is locked

Hello,

I just switched phone from an older Motorola to the new Poco X5 Pro.
During my time with the motorola phone I really got to like the features of Moto Action such as shaking the phone for flashlight or using longpress volume-keys to skipp / rewind music.
Since I already used MacroDroid back then for some simple features I now wanted to bring those features back to my new phone with corresponding macros.

The basic implementation of those hasn't been a problem and all of them work just fine if the phone is unlucked but all of them can't be activated if the phone is locked (maybe because of security reasons).

My question now is, if there is a (simple) way to bypass / change that and if yes, which other risks / disadvantages come with that.

I'd be glad to hear any of your suggenstions and would like to thank you already in advance.

Macros not running when the screen is off is usually due to a battery saving feature on your phone stopping Macrodroid in the background.

Xiaomi has one of the most aggressive background app killers of the major phone makes.

I assume you have given MD and the helper apps all the required permissions including location on all the time.

I had Xiaomi 12 for a short while last year and didn't have your problem. Unfortunately I can't remember all the battery saving features that needed to be disabled.

I recommend you look at the Xiaomi support thread in the Device support forum, as it will likely have details of disabling battery saving features.

Things like the shake device trigger do not work with the screen off by default as it requires keeping the CPU permanently alive to monitor the sensors which will inevitably cause significant battery drain.
