Pixel Watch Out of Range

I recently lost my Pixel Watch. Thankfully, the watch app on my Pixel phone noted the disconnect time, around lunchtime the day before. We had gone out for lunch that day; I called the restaurant and they had it! Whew. Watch must have come off when taking off my coat or something.

Anyhow, I've made a macro to preemptively detect when bluetooth connectivity is lost between my phone and the watch, then sends me an SMS message. Is this a reasonable approach? Any other methods to try? I tried a WearOS trigger, but that did not seem to produce any result for me.

Ideally, I'd also like the watch to alert me if I've left my phone behind.

Any suggestions? (/MacroDroid newbie)

i would keep with the sms macro. place some constraints and triggers and you will be happy, so it doesn't send oftens. i was thinking about: sms can only trigger when its outside of your home or outside of wlan connection. just some basic ideas to improve your individual needs.

the sms could include the current location,where the bluetooth connection gets lost to make it easier to find. bluetooth range is around 10-15meters.

Great suggestions! If I get too many notifications, I may start to ignore them. I had the idea about including location, will try and dig into that a bit more today.

if you get some problems or questions about a certain function, you always can ask till it fits your needs.

i think the goal should be that the notification only appears if you are in an area where "loosing" the device isn't suited. on the other if you don't find your watch and you don't get a notification you lost it at home, maybe under the bed but this area is not drastically since foreign can't take it away.
