Sunday, screen-off action stopped working after a MacroDroid update. Test Action 'screen off' brought up this message below. This setting initially had no effect so tried restarting device, now it works.
I don't know if this reboot thing is true for all devices. You may want to edit the popup so it reflects this fact, and prevent more angry reviews from those giving up and uninstalling.

To use this feature you
must allow MacroDroid to
have device administration
permissions.
* IMPORTANT PLEASE READ *
If you enable device admin
access you will not be able
to uninstall MacroDroid
normally. Instead you will first
have to disable device admin
via your device's Settings
app (Security options), or
just use the uninstall option
from the drawer menu on the
macrodroid home screen.
Select OK to go to the device
admin page on your device.
