High battery consumption

Recently I noticed very high battery consumption on my phone, but I don't have any special triggers or anything battery straining enabled in MacroDroid, nor I use any location related functions. I have location off most of the time on my phone. Does anybode experience the same issue?

Weird, for me MacroDroid is only in 5th

I only have a little part where battery is drained but it's probably because I was seeing what happened with fastboot so I rebooted multiple times.

Well. I think it was 3 days ago, where I did setup some macros that would use location but threw the idea into trash and deleted the macro, so everything is as it was before, but the consumption went suddenly higher. Even some slight use of location services wouldn't explain such a big battery suck from MacroDroid.

I even checked all of my macros, but none of them could make for such an unexplainable battery consumption.

That's weird... Maybe a bug ? Or some macro that went crazy ?
If you can see this, I just discovered that if you use a macro with a loop, disabling it won't stop it, neither does deactivating MacroDroid. The only way to stop it is by deleting the macro or killing MacroDroid.

Just today the problem solved itself. MacroDroid doesn't even show between top 5 most battery draining apps and my battery goes down much slower.

Also my phone, battery is so hot right now and there is no exterior element that could cause this.

Maybe @MacroDroidDev could have a potential explanation, and even better a solution ? Maybe if someone always monitors what exactly is the app doing and manages to see what it does when there is a high battery consumption we could get an answer.

I use Gsam Battery monitor and the first screenshot is typical consumption for MD. The second screenshot provides details for MD.
I haven't seen anything like 30% for MD.

It is entirely possible / likely there are bugs within MacroDroid that can lead to battery drain issues like this, but it's super difficult to know what might be happening without additional information.

It could be something like a stuck wakelock and tools like GSam are useful for finding these sort of problems. It can also be misconfigured macros as was also suggested. This is very hard to quantify but the system log might indicate if something is running over and over again without much delay in the system log.

If you are able to discover any additional info then it's best directly to me at support@macrodroid.com. I definitely do want to fix any issues that causes battery drain like this.

For any other users reading this and being concerned, I must point out that reports like this are fairly rare and I do not believe there are any major battery related issues in typical use cases.

Mine has done this recently. I found MD was using large amounts of Location time.

The only fix for me was to turn off MD Location permission in Apps>Permission then rebooting the phone and re enabling MD Location permission.

I tried all other suggestions and none worked.
