I accidentaly set MacroDroid in a infinite loop and now I can't launch the app to stop it. Someone know how to force the desactivation of MacroDroid ?

If you have not activated macrodroid as device administrator you can force close the application

Settings > applications > macrodroid and force close it.

Otherwise

Settings > security > device management applications and disable macrodroid and try to force close again.

you could try rebooting your device and when it turns on, quickly go into macrodroid and disable it, this has helped me on occasion.

If this doesn't work for you anymore, you can go to your files

(some native file explorers don't allow you to see this path, a good option is solid explorer)
and you can extract a backup from the previous day or something that might help you and then re-install macrodroid.
If you are a pro user and logged in, you may have the backup in the cloud.

Yes booting into safe mode should always prevent MacroDroid starting, so just Google how to boot your device in safe mode and all should be well.

Ehm.... i have also gotten myself into some trouble, i added a logcat trigger (that matches anything.. :ROFLMAO:) and now i can no longer open the Macrodroid app...

Forcing Macrodroid to stop or booting into safe mode won't help me, I also don't have any back-ups...

Now, since the logcat trigger requires the ADB hack, another idea came to my mind... i think i could just remove the ADB hack, then remove the logcat trigger, and then re-do the ADB hack... right?!

So i want to ask, Is it possible to remove the ADB hack, and how hard would that be??

PS;

I should probably post this in the feature request section, but what i think would be ideal for situations like this is an extra option to "Disable Macrodroid" when long pressing the macrodroid app icon, there already is a disable macrodroid action, so this could possibly be very easy to implement!

Ok sorry guys, after i spend 2 hours trying to revoke this permission, i found out that i did have auto back-ups, i thought i had disabled those
I managed to grab an auto back-up from 7 hours ago, and deleted macrodroid, i lost 2 or 3 macro's but i am very happy that it is finally fixed!

Thank you for the suggestion, i have already used that page and apparantly it did succesfully revoke the permission, because i can no longer use any of the triggers/actions that require ADB hack, i gues i will have to re-apply it now...

I find it very strange that the logcat trigger still kept firing, after the permission was revoked, but oh well..

i think i will create a macro with a "Quick Setting Tile" trigger and a "Disable Macrodroid" action, hopefully that will be able to fix it if i ever make a mistake like this again... :p

Consider also adding an appropriately configured SMS Received trigger.
