The v5.30.0 beta update has been rejected from the Play Store because apparently the Wear OS app doesn't function. Previously they were rejecting my Wear OS app updates because they claimed it doesn't function (it does), but now they are reject my main app updates because of this reason.

Issue found: Basic functionality of app isn't working as described

The basic functionality of your app doesn't work as described. Make sure to test your app on a variety of Wear OS devices and configurations. Please refer to the Building Apps for Wearables and Testing your App documentation for more information.

For example:
  • your application does not provide phone connectivity as shown/described on the store listing.

I'm so fed up with this constant battle just to release anything. This will inevitably lead to a massive delay in ever getting this release out and many more wasted hours trying to solve/fight this. Of course I have asked many times before what they mean by this and I get the generic response that they are unable to provide more information, refer to the documentation.

I wonder if it's my screenshot and the brain dead reviewer who has no understanding of what the app is, just sees that 'Find my phone' and 'Silent mode' are not present therefore it doesn't work.

I will try stripping it back to the bare minimum screenshot.

That is just stupidly stupid. I'm not sure what they do to review apps but it seems more like they just don't want developers to upload apps at this point... Unless we have a contact inside Google it will just be an endless battle against bots and people who don't want to use simple logic to understand the app, even superficially.

I know many stories of people who have given up on their app because it's just a hobby project and it's not worth the hassle that Google imposes just to keep an app alive. Whether intentional or not the net effect of all this is that individual developer and hobbyist apps will increasingly disappear from the store and big corporations who can afford teams of people to deal with all this crap will become even more dominant than they already are.

Of course there are a whole lot of crap apps out there and many will certainly not be missed, but that doesn't make up for the fact that users will miss out on some real fantastic innovative ideas or very niche apps that just aren't viable to keep alive.

One functionality that clearly needs to be improved upon in the Wear Os app is that when scrolling through the list of macros on the watch it is almost impossible not to inadvertently trigger some of the macros when touching the screen which is from a usability standpoint quite annoying and it would be fair to say it does not function well.

I think one idea to easily remedy this issue would be to make the macro icon a slightly bigger and ONLY make the icon clickable and not the label of the macro. This way is is very easy to avoid unintended triggers while scrolling and the usability would be improved tremendously.

I think the Macrodroid Wear Os app is a great time saver and nifty tool for any smartwatch.

Upon looking at it again - I think the size of the macro icons in the Wear Os app are just fine - so simply disabling only the linking of the macro labels should be fine.

Alternatively the macro label text size could be decreased and the icon moved a little to the right so that there is a wider margin of empty space on the left for scrolling without accidentally triggering any of the macros.

@andi_sf All well and good, but since Google won't let me update the WearOS app it's not going to happen any time soon.
Thank you very much for your reply - I really hope you can push the update through since the Macrodroid Wear Os app really has great potential not only making the watch more useful and functional but also adding so much more value and versatility to the Macrodroid phone app overall as well as expanding its user base. I set up some macros for the watch and it is a joy to work with and makes for a great user experience!

I killed the app so it didn't prompt me to upgrade. After launching it again, this popped up.
This is not a stolen copy, but a clone (with few modifications to help my testing, like for example preventing all crashes).

This is not new! They are macrodroid anti-piracy mechanisms (I remember when I was testing this with Jamie🤧)

Well this is the first time it pops up when using my clones, so I thought it was new. No matter what I do, I'm in a constant fight with this popup !
Before I used a serial code Jamie gave me but now it's just making things worse (even when using the free version... it just pops up constantly when reverting to free version)
